Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: To carry out final assembly and maintenance of trikes including E-assist cycles using bespoke and standard cycle components. To provide a consistent quality product by the use of standard and trikes specific tools and equipment. To act as a member of the ICE workshop team including general workshop assistant tasks including the assembly of component parts all the way through to packaging and shipping. To quality check (QC) at all stages following processes and procedures as assigned by management.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting and communication:

Raise any concerns you have regarding quality control
Raise any concerns you have regarding H & S
Attend all workshop meetings during the working day
Respect all colleagues and use appropriate language and behaviour
Technical or Functional:

The setting of cycle derailleur and hub gears
The setting of brakes in various configurations
The torque setting of key componentry
The setup of Shimano steps E-assist systems
Carry out fault finding and rectification on trikes.
Routine servicing and maintenance on trikes.
Wheel truing and /or building.
Functional test riding of finished trike
To communicate any improvements or errors in production and assist management in improving overall efficiency.
Follow procedures and processes as written down or verbally communicated
Carry out packaging or shipping processes
Use the correct tools in the appropriate manner.
Accurately measure tolerances using the appropriate Jigs or tools.
Obey the authorisation list for work in restricted areas
Be subject to periodic competency checks
Carry out the duty lockup and cleaning roles
Keep the work area clean and tidy
Carry out training as required to fulfil your role
Required work experience, skills, or education:

2 years’ experience minimum in the cycle industry as a mechanic carrying out routine servicing to Cytech L 2 / equivalent standard
Experience in the setup, diagnosing and maintenance of E-assist cycles or Cytech / equivalent Qualification in E-Bike systems
Experience of basic assembly and following processes and instructions.
Knowledge and understanding of the safe working use of tools and measuring equipment.
Understanding the importance of teamwork and integrity
2 years’ experience minimum in the cycle industry as a mechanic carrying out routine servicing to Cytech L 2 / equivalent standard

Able to work away on occasion as required by the role
A level of fitness to be able to

Stand up for prolonged periods at the work stand building trikes.
Climb step ladders to a height above 2 meters.
Be able to carry out manual handling of boxes in a warehouse up to a weight of 36KG.
Be part of a team to unload a shipping container on a regular basis.
Desired :

Cycling enthusiast
Computer literate and able to use various programs and systems to aid communication.
Experience in team management.
English/Math to GCSE grade 4 / C or above
