Our client, a leading residential care provider is seeking to appoint Support Workers to join their team on a permanent basis, working with adults with a mental health diagnosis.

This position provides regular training opportunities for the right individuals, with the opportunity to undertake a care certificate or diploma. As well as this, annual salary increases are provided whilst working in a varied and rewarding role.

The Role:

  • 40 hours a week guaranteed over 5 days of the week
  • Permanent contract
  • £11 an hour increasing to £12 an hour on completion of induction and mandatory training
  • Salary increases yearly
  • Opportunity to receive training and gain qualifications
  • Shift patterns vary: typically, between 8 and 14 hours
  • Range of shift times available: Days, nights, or sleep ins

Duties include:

  • Working in a person-centred way, to promote independence at all levels where possible for the residents
  • Supporting residents to undertake domestic tasks such as: cleaning, cooking & chores
  • Assisting vulnerable adults with day-today responsibilities such as attending appointments, accessing the community and more
  • Provide emotional support, support residents to achieve their goals, access their hobbies and passions within the community.
  • Dispensing of medication and some personal care will be entailed; also the ability to monitor behaviours & work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure proper support is being provided

 

The ideal Candidate:

  • Must be flexible with working schedule; happy to work some evenings, weekends as well occasional sleep-ins
  • Must be confident supporting adults with a mental health diagnosis – some experience working with vulnerable with complex need is advantageous
  • Enthusiastic and proactive in maintaining the smooth running of the home
  • Communicating effectively with multiple care professionals involved in the resident’s care
