Havencare is a registered Health and Social care charity working to support individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, Autism and Complex needs in the Devon and Cornwall.
We are looking for a Support Worker to support an individual called Colleen in Newquay.

‘’Hello, my cocker’s, my name is Colleen, I am 68 and I live in Newquay.
An exciting opportunity has become available to join my team, this doesn’t happen very often.
I am looking for someone fun to understand my needs and enjoy the same activities as me.
Can you enrich my life?
Do you have the ability to think and act creatively?
Are you motivated to guide and support me to achieve my goals?
Will you support me to find meaningful day opportunities?
You will need to be confident to work alone but form part of my strong team.
You will be enthusiastic, offer person-centred support and want to make a real difference to my days but ensuring you include me in all your thinking!
You will be required to promote personal care needs, enjoyment of own home, whilst also promoting and supporting access to the local community, local events and other activities.
You will have a good understanding of learning disabilities and will want to drive forward skills teaching to promote my independence.
I like to go to slimming world, the beach, meet with friends and family. I go to a day center twice a week, but this is currently being explored for me to attend something different. This may mean there is some additional hours to support me in the coming months.
