We are recruiting on behalf of our innovative client who boast a worldwide customer base and who are looking to recruit an experienced Supply Chain Manager
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for maintaining a supply chain that is robust, and efficient to enable us to meet production targets in line with plans. Ensuring that quality materials are supplied on time at the lowest cost, proactively responsible for continual improvement & leading in the development of a sustainable and forward-thinking supply chain. Supporting the design teams in development of new and existing products through effective supply and procurement.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management responsibilities:
• Responsible for building and maintaining effective and efficient Supply Chain including:
• Supplier relationships and appraisal.
• Cost effective procurement.
• Import and shipping of goods from overseas.
• Measure and monitor supplier performance across the contract and provide detailed reporting and analysis
on trends together with improvement plans.
• Undertake supplier on boarding programmes
• Deliver comprehensive MI reporting information to the stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to maintain positive and open relationships
Essential experience/skills/education
• Relevant experience of production planning, procurement systems, stock control & warehousing/logistics.
• Experience with import duty and VAT
• High level of general computer literacy
• Experienced and commercially astute with the ability to secure the best possible agreement whilst protecting
the commercial integrity of the business
• Well organised, able to manage tasks and time and work to an overall plan
• Able to negotiate assertively in line with organizational budgets and plans negotiating complex and
significant purchasing agreements.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Strong team worker, supports others, takes responsibility, works to a joint plan, updates and communicates
well.
• Available to travel both UK and worldwide as required to fulfil the needs of the role.
Desired experience/skills/education
• Experience using MRP systems
• Understanding of ISO requirements
• SAP system knowledge or experience
• Qualified to Diploma level of the Charted Institute of Purchasing & Supply
• Management experience, training and/or qualification
