Duchy Hospital, Truro, are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, highly organised individual, who has a proven track record of managing a team/s in the Sterile Services Department (SSD). You will have at least 5 years experience as an SSD technician and your level of knowledge and skill in processing all specialities of instruments will be second to none. It would be desirable for you to have a recognised decontamination qualification such as an NVQ or a TVQ however we would be willing to train you in post if necessary. We would also like you to have some knowledge and understanding of quality management systems (QMS) within SSD as you will be solely responsible for this as part of your role.
You may be someone who wishes to move up to the next step in their career and is looking for a management role, but has not been able to progress with their current employer. We will support the right candidate in attaining the knowledge and skills to run the SSD unit and the QMS in exchange for a dedicated, ambitious individual who will work alongside their team demonstrating support and leadership in this small but busy department. This role will be 70% hands on and the right individual will foster the highest standards of practice within their department to ensure a quality service is delivered to our clinicians and patients alike.
The department operates between 08:00 and 20:00 Monday to Friday with some Saturday and Bank holiday working.
