Our client, a local care provider specialising in the residential support of individuals with Mental Health difficulties, have an exciting and long-term opportunity for a Shift Supervisor/Senior Support Worker.

This role presents a unique and flexible way of working; to work within a CQC registered home with a difference. With scope to progress through the ranks, a flexible working schedule and a varied workload that makes a real difference to the residents they support.

The successful applicant will work to assist in the management of the 18-bed residential home & it’s residents, as well as the staff team.

A varied role including but not limited to running the day-to-day planning of the shift, supporting the management team with all compliance & medication, supporting with the recruitment process, responsibility for the smooth running of a shift.

The Role:

  • £22,000 to £25,000 per annum, dependent on training & experience
  • Based in Liskeard, working within a residential care facility that can house 18 individuals
  • Permanent role with long-term scope
  • 30 – 40 hours a week on average, with flexi working considered – over time available
  • Training opportunities are available, including resident manager training for the right candidates

The right candidate:

  • Must have minimum 1 year's experience working within a care setting
  • Experience of managing a team or running a shift is highly advantageous
  • Medication training is essential
  • A UK driving licence is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams as well as residents
  • Are hard working, committed, organised and adaptable

The Role:

  • Expected to support the running of the home on a day-to-day basis in the absence of the management team
  • Working in a person-centred way, to promote independence
  • Liaising with both the management team and the Care Staff, as well as external agencies to ensure the safe and successful provision of support to all residents
  • Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of all residents, by implementation of care plans and regular reviews
  • Producing, maintaining, and distributing house paperwork & compliance to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available
  • Providing an exemplary standard of care to the residents, always setting an example to the other care staff
  • Other duties commensurate with the level and nature of the position
