Since it began in 1982, Spectrum has grown to become a leading provider of specialist care for autistic adults and children. We are a charity and proud of our track record working with children and adults with complex and challenging needs. We operate 18 residential homes, one community outreach service and one specialist education centre, all within the beautiful county of Cornwall.
We are currently looking to recruit 2 x Senior Care Support Workers (SCSW) to be based at either Redruth or Truro, to help manage and lead shifts under the guidance of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager. By managing the resources for the house, whilst providing care and support to our service users, and leading the delivery of person-centred care plans, you will be helping us to ensure that the House service is operating to maximise our service-users’ quality of life.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification and a commitment to work towards achieving Level 3 within your first 24 months of appointment.
• An understanding of legislative requirements around care of vulnerable people, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Broad knowledge of Autism and associated conditions, with experience of managing or supervising others in a care workplace environment.
• Computer literate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including initiative, adaptability, confidence, tolerance and resilience.
