Reports to: Active Living Hub Manager
Place of Work: Newquay Day Centre (Govenek Active Living Hub) and the community.
The organisation reserves the right to require you to work at such other place of business of the organisation as the organisation may from time to time reasonably require.
Salary: From April 2022 - £19,798 pro-rata per annum (£16,052)
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week. The post-holder is required to demonstrate reasonable flexibility potentially, with notice, out of hours, weekend or evenings.
Fixed term: End of March 2023

About the role:
Your base will be the Newquay Day Centre and you will also spend valuable time out in the community at people’s homes.
You will:
*Coordinate the planning, implementation and quality of support services offered within the hub and as part of the Active Living Outreach programme
*Look at barriers that people face with social isolation
*Look at ways to help older people and people with dementia to reengage and to learn new skills
*Design and run meaningful activities and group sessions
*Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained
*Support teams within the hub and coordinate active living workers in the community
*Complete and review person-centred day centre assessment plans
*Support people in the centre to learn new skills and to gain independence
*Attend meetings and share/drive ideas and change
*Ensure a warm and friendly demeanour at all times
About you:
You will enjoy meeting new people, be confident and outgoing and like helping others. You will be motivated by making a real difference to the quality of people’s lives. You’ll need good communication skills, and your own transport to get between the day centre and people’s homes. You will need good IT skills in order to complete assessments and present data and information in meetings.
Experience of giving care and an NVQ in care is useful but not essential. A warm and caring personality, an engaging and inspiring style, and a willingness to learn is what we consider above everything else.

*Due to the nature of the work, travel is an essential part of the role therefore a driving license and access to a car is highly desirable.

A total of 28 days paid holiday for your first year, made up of (Based off 30 hours over 4 days):
Core entitlement: 22 days holiday pro-rata (17.5 days)
Bank holidays: 9 days pro-rata for 2022 (7.5 days)

Christmas Leave: 2 full days during Dec-Jan
Plus 1 additional day’s annual leave after each twelve months service, up to 30 days pro-rata for your core entitlement
