My local authority client, is looking for an experienced Finance candidate with Management Accounting experience to join their Finance Service in Truro. You will be expected to link closely with Business Reporting Managers and their staff to ensure a co-ordinated delivery of financial support is maintained. The role is working from home initially but there will be a phased return to the office in the the future.

Responsibilities
You will be ensuring budget holders are provided with the necessary financial information and advice in order to maintain budgetary control. This will include support for both capital and revenue budgets and the budget setting process.
Provide key information to enable the closure of accounts process to be completed.
Ensure the standards and protocols set by the Finance Service are applied in the delivery of front line services and new business opportunities developed by client departments.
Contribute to the delivery for client services of financial reports such that the financial management needs both revenue and capital of the services are met.
Work with client services to identify, quantify and report/escalate significant financial problems
Provide support and/or attend meetings with managers and client departments
Work with Finance colleagues to ensure data within electronic financial system (Oracle ERP) is secure and accurate
Complete reconciliations, clearance of suspense accounts and the processing of journals and
Support the client’s annual budget setting process in a timely manner
Support the client’s Final Accounts and associated external reporting
Contribute to the delivery of financial training
Attend Senior leadership and management team meetings
Requirements
Senior AAT or part CCAB qualified with significant experience in a similar role
Good level of adaptability and flexibility to learn and adapt to changing circumstances
Demonstrate good understanding of high level and medium term financial forecasting
Ability to provide and enable financial advice in relation to financial standards, options appraisal and financial modelling
Have some experience of providing budge management advice
Good knowledge of range of software packages and IT literacy.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels of staff and client officers.
