Our client in St Ives are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join their busy kitchen brigade at a luxury Hotel & Golf resort.As a junior sous chef you will assist the Sous chef, this means that as much responsibility as the sous chef had you have shares in it.The junior chef is responsible for many duties and responsibilities of the chef, such as inventory, kitchen staff management, and food preparation.Responsibilities & Duties include:Ensure consistent and smooth running of food productionEnsure effective stock purchase, its receipt and storageEnsure that working areas are always kept cleanAssist other kitchen staff as need arisesEnsure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food in quality, quantity, and safetyWork towards exceeding customer's expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of serviceGive appropriate support or guidance to members of kitchen when need arisesPromote good team spirit regularlyEnsure all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperaturePartly responsible for the preparation of kitchen cleaning rosters and the supervision of cleaning schedulesEnsure that the kitchen staff work harmoniously to ensure timely production of quality foodsEnsure proper arrangement and garnishing of foodManage food logsMonitor the quality and quantity of food preparedAssist in recruiting, hiring, and training employee cooksReport the need for maintenance to appropriate staffThis is a full-time permanent role paying an annual salary of £25,000For more information or to apply please email your CV to stephanie@winners-recruitment.co.uk
