Job Description

Cornwall Care is built on love. Love of our people and love for the work that we do. As Cornwall’s largest provider of care, and a registered charity, we’re a little special – and now you can join us.

Our Home Care team work in the community, providing care to people in their own homes, enabling them to maintain their independence – imagine playing a part in that.

Working for Cornwall Care

You’ll soon become part of the team; learning the ropes from your new colleagues, and being guided through our essential training – including the Care Certificate if you’re new to care. In fact, our training is so good it’s won awards.

Proud that we’re a Healthy Workplace Award winner too, we focus deeply on your own wellbeing. Our carefully chosen staff benefits deliberately provide for your mental, physical and financial health – to take care of you, as you take care of others.

For those who would like, there are very real opportunities to progress with us. We have carer levels 1-4, and being a large organisation means a huge variety of other roles, right across the county. Our brilliant Care Academy, in partnership with Cornwall College, gives you access to free courses and qualifications – from improving your basics like maths, English and computer skills, to apprenticeships and industry-recognised Diplomas. The Cornwall Care world is your oyster!

Responsibilities of a Community Care Assistant

You will be responsible for delivering high quality, professional person-centred care and support for people in your local community; enabling their independence in a safe, non-judgemental and positive environment.
You will be delivering full personal care including showering, domestic tasks, shopping, escorts or maybe just being there for a friendly chat whilst carrying out a welfare check.
You will be part of a local team and as far as possible your visits will be organised not more than 5 miles apart.
Full-time, part-time, flexible contracts available and our care hours are split shifts during 7am – 10pm and will include alternate weekends.
You will receive full support from your Area Manager, Care Co-ordinator, the Planning Team and our out of hours on call team, so whatever situation may arise, you will always have someone at the end of the telephone.
